Shaun W. Wilcox, was ordained as the new Sr. Pastor of Joyful Community Church on January 1, 2017 by his Pastor, Fred Welch III.  Shaun was born and raised in Waimānalo, June 21st, 1988; started attending Hope Chapel Olomana at age 15, where he accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Shaun became a Youth Pastor at Hope Chapel Waimānalo sometime thereafter and sat under the teachings of his Sr. Pastor. Shaun's love for the Lord grew all the more when one of his triplet brothers passed and went home to be with the LORD at age 19. Shaun then knew how precious a soul meant to our God; still a young teen out of high school, he left his pursuit of becoming a Coast Guard Rescue Diver and he pursued the works of a Pastor, doing ministry at his local church for over 12 years. He has a heart for all peoples, in particular his Hawaiian people. Shaun has preached hundreds of sermons over the years and says he will do so until his last breath on earth. When Shaun isn't doing ministry you can find him up mauka or over the makai, where he has been working for the State of Hawaii for over ten years, doing conservation, resource management, forestry and wildlife type work. Shaun enjoys fishing with his cousins, volunteering with non-profits every Tuesday's and Saturday's cleaning Hawaii's beaches, watersheds, feeding homeless, mentoring at-risk youth to name a few. Shaun sits on numerous advisory Boards/Commissions within the State government. He deems his greatest ministry to be time spent with his nephew. He is currently teaching his nephew to speak Hawaiian. Shaun has beat the odds of nay-sayers time and time again over the years and credits all glory to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
